Artists Association of Dollard

Terry Fishman

Terry Fishman

I am a Canadian Artist living in Montreal Quebec. In 2016, my life took an unexpected but welcoming turn when I walked into my first Art class with Artist//Gallery owner, Nedia El Khouri of the Viva Vida Art Gallery, Pointe Claire. I had never taken a taken a course pertaining to art other than an art history class in high school. After retiring from a thirty-three-year career at the Sir Mortimer B. Davis- Jewish General Hospital, as a social counsellor, I decided to challenge myself and learn to draw and paint.

As an artist, I am drawn to painting my memories. Painting allows me to express my emotions at different stages and phases of my life, whether they express joy, sadness, or grief. I am known to be a prolific painter. I paint to an inner flow and have been told by my peers that they can recognize my signature, full of energy, boldness, and rich texture. I love to paint flowers which have developed into my unique abstract style. The medium of Acrylics is my first love, my second being Watercolour.

My artwork has been juried and exhibited in several locations at City Hall in Dollard des Ormeaux, Pierrefonds, and Pointe Claire. I am presently on the Executive Committee of the Artists’ Association of Dollard as the Social Media Coordinator. My art education journey continues by participating in Continuing Art Education Courses.
